STEPHANIE NABOURS - PRESIDENT

1. Tell me about your career.  What did your journey look like before you came to CS Marine?

After graduating from the University of Texas as a Mechanical Engineer, I started my career researching combustion in engines, then rolling resistance on cars and trucks.  I Then moved to the design and release division for production trucks for a major car company. Here I learned the change process for current vehicle improvements and fixes, along with the design process to take a vehicle from concept stage to production. Always wanting to work independently and to free myself to pursue other aspects of life, I formed a company machining parts for a variety of companies, thus improving my understanding of manufacturing and design, along with learning the business side of owning and running a business.  From there it was a small step to running my own companies and employing others.

2.  What originally drew you to apply to CS Marine?

Taking advantage of “being at the right place at the right time”, my husband and I formed CS Marine.  We saw an opportunity to provide better technicians to help improve production at a shipyard. Since this worked so well, we expanded to then provide program management and engineering to a variety of clients.   His expertise in the Engineering side and my perseverance on the business side has been a winning combination for the company, our employees and those who employ CS Marine. 

3.  What do you work on?

I take care of the administrative, financial, and business side.

4.  Why do you look forward to coming to work every day?

The details involved in running a small business are extremely important.  I have many goals each day which I must achieve and I enjoy meeting those goals. 

5.  What are you looking forward to learning?

Running a small business is a complicated affair, especially one in the first few years.  I look forward to learning how to more efficiently and effectively run our family-oriented company6
